Senior Site Manager

Role Overview:

This is a key site leadership role that requires strong technical construction knowledge and hands-on site management expertise. The successful candidate will play a central role in the delivery of the scheme - ensuring programme deadlines, safety standards, and build quality are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all on-site construction activity, from groundworks through to final snagging and handover.
• Interpret and work from detailed construction drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all subcontractors are coordinated effectively and delivering to schedule.
• Conduct regular site inspections, enforce health & safety regulations, and lead on toolbox talks.
• Maintain detailed site records and ensure full compliance with NHBC and building control standards.
• Liaise with technical teams, design coordinators, and client-side project managers.
• Monitor progress, address issues proactively, and report to senior stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on complex new build residential schemes.
• Strong technical understanding of groundworks, foundations, and structural sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with confidence.
• CSCS Black Card, SMSTS, and First Aid – mandatory.
• Track record of successful subcontractor management and programme delivery.
• Experience working with or for a housing association or public-sector developer is highly desirable.
• Professional, organised, and solutions-focused approach.
