Senior Quantity Surveyor
Chester
£65,000 - £75,000 + Package
About Us
We are a dynamic management-led construction business with a turnover of £20m, delivering projects for a portfolio of blue-chip clients. Our success is built on long-term partnerships — treating our clients as key accounts rather than one-off projects. We pride ourselves on our collaborative, non-adversarial approach, ensuring high-quality outcomes and repeat business.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of high-value construction projects. Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of cost planning, reporting, and commercial control across projects.
- Act as the commercial lead for key accounts, developing strong, trust-based relationships with blue-chip clients.
- Oversee subcontract procurement and contract administration.
- Provide accurate financial forecasting, cash flow management, and cost/value reporting.
- Support project teams in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
- Mentor junior members of the commercial team and contribute to best practice within the business.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at senior level, within main contractor or management contracting environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset — committed to delivering solutions, not disputes.
- RICS qualification (or working towards) preferred but not essential.
What We Offer:
- Opportunity to work with prestigious blue-chip clients on long-term programmes of work.
- A supportive, management-led environment that values partnership and professional growth.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Clear career progression opportunities within a growing business.
If you are a commercially astute, client-focused professional looking to make a real impact in a people-first business, we would love to hear from you.
