Senior Estimator

The Role

As a Senior Estimator, you will take the lead on preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. Working closely with design, commercial, and operational teams, you will manage the tendering process from concept through to submission, ensuring our bids are both commercially sound and strategically aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to ensure full project understanding.
• Conduct quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and value engineering exercises.
• Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
• Support cost planning and feasibility studies at early project stages.
• Contribute to the continual improvement of estimating processes and systems.
• Mentor and support junior estimators within the team.
• Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and project teams.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience across residential, aftercare, industrial, or commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Causeway, Conquest, CostX, or similar).
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with strong negotiation skills.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
