The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of various groundworks and civil engineering projects. You will play a key role in cost planning, contract administration, and financial reporting while ensuring that projects remain profitable and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Assess and value works completed on site.
  • Produce interim and final valuations.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontractor packages and variations.
  • Monitor project cash flow and report regularly on project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within groundworks or civils.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred.
