The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are commercially successful and delivered within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender returns, and contract documentation.
  • Carry out valuations and manage variations and change control.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor packages.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with site teams and clients.
  • Manage interim payments and final accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and commercial procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (or similar).

Desirable:

  • Experience across a range of project types (commercial, residential, public sector).
  • Professional membership (RICS or similar) preferred but not essential.
