Job Description:

We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Gateman for an ongoing role in Winsford, working on a large-scale new build housing development recently taken over by a leading national Housing Association. This is a long-term opportunity on a professionally managed residential site.

You will be responsible for controlling site access and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, deliveries, and personnel throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manning the main site gate as the first point of contact
• Logging in/out all operatives, visitors, and vehicles
• Directing and coordinating site traffic, including delivery lorries, plant machinery, and subcontractors
• Ensuring safe pedestrian and vehicle segregation at all times
• Using radios to communicate with site management, plant operators, and trades for safe vehicle movements
• Maintaining clear access routes and preventing congestion at entry/exit points
• Conducting regular checks around the gate area and reporting any concerns
• Enforcing strict health & safety and site security protocols

Requirements:

• Valid A73 NPORS Gateman qualification – Essential
• Proven experience in vehicle marshalling and traffic control on busy construction sites
• Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• A strong focus on safety, vigilance, and professionalism
• Full PPE
