Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process from tender through to completion.
- Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure designs are compliant with planning, building regs, and client specifications.
- Identify risks, design clashes, and potential programme impacts early.
- Support value engineering and contribute to build-ability reviews.
- Work closely with project, commercial, and planning teams to align design and delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager in main contracting, ideally on residential or student accommodation projects.
- Background in managing design on complex, multi-million-pound developments.
- Good technical knowledge of construction methods, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to manage multiple design packages and deadlines simultaneously.
