Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process from tender stage through to handover.
  • Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure coordinated and practical designs.
  • Drive design meetings and ensure timely release of design information.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements, budgets, and buildability.
  • Identify design risks and work with project teams to resolve issues early.
  • Support planning applications, technical submissions, and value engineering exercises.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator in the construction industry.
  • Background in general construction (e.g., commercial, residential, education, healthcare).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often at different stages.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms (desirable).
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred.
