Overview

As part of our growing collaboration with Willmott Dixon in Yorkshire, We Are Footprint (WAF) has begun supporting the site team at The Seam in Barnsley to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to work.

This initiative reflects a positive approach at the site, from traditional temporary labour to socially responsible hiring, demonstrating the value of inclusive employment practices from the outset. Although still early in the project’s lifecycle, two individuals from priority backgrounds have already been successfully placed into site-based roles, both supported with upskilling and ongoing development.

These outcomes highlight the potential of sustained collaboration and demonstrate how WAF can integrate social value into new projects from day one, helping people build stability, reconnect with family and community, and make confident steps towards future career goals.
